Rhino Construction/Rhino Properties Inc.

I am currently the president of Rhino Construction and have held my California State Contractors license since 1991. Our current business plan is to seek residential and commercial remodeling projects as well as custom homes. This plan includes adding footage as well as remodeling footage in existing buildings. Our future goals include the development of property creating affordable eco friendly communities. Our clients list includes people from high level musicians such as Tommy Shaw of Styx to the blue collar everyday homeowner and everything in between.

My experience and education evolved over the last 25 years primarily working for 3 different land developers ranging from a middle management role, in the field as a building superintendant to a senior management position as the Vice President of Construction charged with the daily operations of the LA/Ventura County division for 10 years. This experience offers me a very unique education in the building industry from a technical as well as a business standpoint.

One of the most memorable construction related experiences in my life came in 1981 as President Reagan started his first term. I was one of 85 men in the US Naval Seabee's selected to "Project Rimstone". We planned and built 7 prefabricated homes, removed the top of a mountain to place a helicopter hanger and install steel rapid runway matting large enough to land 2 helicopters simultaneously. The project also required the installation of a state of the art security system including heat/ motion sensitive cameras to the 650 acre Santa Barbara ranch owned by the President. The objective of this project was primarily to house the U.S. Secret Service personnel to protect the first family during their visits.

My education includes:

  • U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, Port Hueneme, CA. Structural Steel Erection "B" School in 1982

  • U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, Port Hueneme, CA. Builder "B" School in 1981

  • U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, Gulfport, MS. Builder "A" School, in 1979, graduated # 2 in my class

  • North Hennepin Vocational Technical College, Brooklyn Park, Mn. Building Technology, 1978

For relaxation I have found that I enjoy mostly working with kids. I realized this as a young person coaching youth baseball when I was in the military in the late 70's and early 80's. I have coached youth football for the past 17 years in my community and currently serve as the President of the Moorpark Saints youth football association. I also enjoy participating in charitable events such as Relay for Life Cancer research fundraiser and HomeAid's Project Playhouse™. This organization raises funds to support the Transitional Housing Development Program for the 82,000 temporarily homeless in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties at any given time.
