Getting started is easy. Fill out our contact form online, call us at (805) 530-0970, or email [email protected]. We'll schedule a time to meet at your property, walk through the project together, and provide you with a detailed written proposal — completely free, no obligation, and no pressure.
You don't need to have everything figured out — that's what we're here for. It helps to have a general sense of your goals, a rough budget range, and any inspiration photos or ideas you've collected. If you have existing plans, HOA guidelines, or property surveys, bring those too. But even if you're starting from scratch, we'll guide you through the entire process.
We serve homeowners and builders across Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties — including Moorpark, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Agoura Hills, Santa Rosa Valley, and surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, just give us a call.
Yes — fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Scott Reinhardt obtained his California General Contractor's license in 1991, and Rhino Construction has maintained full licensing and insurance coverage ever since. Every subcontractor we bring on is also required to be licensed and insured. You can have complete confidence that your project and property are protected.
Absolutely. We manage the entire process from start to finish — including design, architectural drawings, permit applications, city submissions, and required inspections. Navigating local building departments can be time-consuming and confusing. We handle all of it so you don't have to, and we make sure everything is code-compliant before a single nail is driven.
Permit timelines vary by city and project type. Simple permits can be approved in a few days, while larger projects such as room additions or new construction can take several weeks to a few months depending on the municipality. We build permit timelines into our project schedules from day one and stay on top of the process so there are no unnecessary delays.
We can help with both. For many projects, we work directly with trusted architects and designers we have longstanding relationships with — architects who have worked on hundreds of projects across Southern California. For smaller projects, our team can often handle the design planning in-house. We'll advise you on the best approach for your specific project during the initial consultation.
Yes — this is one of the most valuable things we offer. Between zoning laws, setback requirements, HOA restrictions, easements, and local ordinances, there's a lot that can affect what's buildable on your property. Our team has decades of experience navigating these issues across Ventura and LA Counties, and we can help you understand your options before you commit to anything.
We start with a detailed, itemized proposal so you know exactly what you're getting and what it costs — no vague estimates. Our team's 30+ years of experience means we're very good at identifying potential issues before they become costly surprises. We also factor in material lead times, permit timelines, and subcontractor scheduling upfront. If something unexpected arises, we communicate it immediately and give you options rather than just sending a change order.
Timeline depends entirely on the scope of work. A bathroom refresh or repair project can be done in a day or two. A full kitchen remodel typically runs 4–8 weeks. A room addition may take 3–6 months. A custom home build can take 10–18 months. We provide a realistic project schedule at the start and we're known for sticking to it. Our clients consistently comment that we finish when we say we will.
Changes happen — and we handle them professionally. Any changes to the original scope are documented with a written change order that outlines the impact on cost and timeline before any additional work begins. We never surprise you with an invoice for work you didn't approve. Our goal is always clear, transparent communication throughout the entire project.
Yes. We have experience working directly with homeowner insurance companies on damage repair projects — including fire damage, water damage, and termite damage. We understand the documentation and scope requirements that insurance companies need, and we can work with your adjuster to make the process as smooth as possible for you.
Yes. From the first meeting through the final walkthrough, you'll have a dedicated point of contact — typically Scott or Danny Reinhardt. We don't hand you off to a junior rep and disappear. We check in regularly, update you proactively, and respond to calls and messages promptly. Our clients consistently highlight our communication as one of our greatest strengths.
Not necessarily. Many of our clients are at work or even out of town during construction. We're experienced working independently and keep clients updated with photos and progress reports throughout the project. That said, we do recommend being available for key decision points — especially during rough-in stages when your input on details like outlet placement or fixture locations matters most.
We take cleanliness seriously. Our crews clean up every day before leaving and take steps to protect your existing flooring, furniture, and landscaping throughout the project. We use protective barriers and drop cloths in work areas, and we make sure the job site is left safe and organized at the end of each work day. Your home deserves to be treated with respect — and it will be.
We work with a trusted network of licensed, insured subcontractors who we've built relationships with over many years. Every sub we use has been vetted for quality, reliability, and professionalism. We don't just hire whoever is cheapest — we hire who is best. Danny coordinates all subcontractor scheduling and on-site supervision to make sure every trade performs to our standards.
We address it — period. Total satisfaction is not just a tagline for us, it's our standard. If something isn't right, tell us and we will fix it. Scott personally oversees quality on every project and has been known to catch issues his own clients didn't even notice — and correct them on the spot. We don't consider a project finished until you're completely happy with the result.
Yes. We stand behind our work. Specific warranty terms depend on the type of project and the materials used, and we'll go over those details with you during the proposal process. Beyond any formal warranty, our reputation means everything to us — and we will always make things right if an issue arises from our workmanship.
This is something we think about on every single project. With decades of experience building and remodeling homes across Southern California, we understand what adds lasting value and what doesn't. We advise clients on material choices, layout decisions, and finishes that not only look great today but will appeal to future buyers and appraisers. Your home is likely your biggest investment — we treat it that way.
Integrity. We built this company specifically because we believed the industry needed it back. Too many homeowners have been burned by contractors who overpromise, underdeliver, and disappear. We show up when we say we will, communicate openly, price fairly, and don't stop until you're satisfied. Whether it's a one-day repair or a multi-million dollar custom home — you get the same level of commitment every time.
We're available Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM. Let's talk about your project.
Ready to get started? Reach out and we'll get back to you the same day. No pressure, no obligation — just an honest conversation about your project.
